The collection consists of records from 1963-1970 relating to the assassinations of John F. Kennedy and of his brother, Robert F. Kennedy maintained by Senator Richard B. Russell who served on the Warren Commission. The majority of the materials relate to the President's assassination and the subsequent findings of the Warren Commission. The records include subject files containing correspondence, reports, testimony transcripts, book manuscripts drafts and proofs, and memoranda. The miscellany materials include books, magazines or magazine articles, and news clippings pertaining to the Kennedy assassinations, the commission report, and other related topics.
